Texas is a sprawling state with 213,615 miles of rural highways. Making sure that the rules of safety and the laws of Texas are followed on these motorways are the 1,703 officers and supervisors who make up the Texas Highway Patrol. As they say, "everything is big" in Texas, including the area assigned to each patrolman: 125 miles per day! The history of the Texas Highway Patrol begins in August 1935, when the state patrol was made part of the newly created Department of Public Safety. at that time, the organization was renamed the Texas Highway Patrol.

Over time and through various reorganizations, the patrol has evolved into a unit divided into 14 districts across the state. But the patrol's mission has always remained the same: to secur and maintain order and make those highways safe and effective.

Now, the pride of Texas is captured in a dramatic die-cast replica of a 1971 Dodge Challenger, one of the most powerful muscle machines of its era. Marked with the official emblems of the Texas Highway Patrol. Complete with two roof lights - one red and one blue - spotlights, dual exhausts and the words "State Trooper" on the front and back, your Texas Highway Patrol 1971 Dodge Challenger is produced by - and available only from - Matchbox Collectibles.
